Hi, I am Savo Vuksan, I currently live in Linz, Upper Austria. My interest in computers and games started when I was 8. I remember very vividly that I played Donkey Kong Country on a SNES Emulator with my twin, and I asked myself: 'How is this magical thing working?' Years later I found the answer: With code!
With 13 years I had my first encounter with computer code. I was learning the 3D modeling software Blender to make 3D models and after watching a dozen tutorials I came across a video about this thing called Unity3D. I found out it was a piece of software that supports you in making games. During that time I played a lot of Little Big Planet 2, which I already built little games in, so I thought: 'How hard could it be to make real games?' The answer was: very hard. The resources available to that time where pretty limited, so I went off to learn how to code.
So with 14, it started. I bought a book with a fancy coffee mug on it and learned to code in Java 8. I got the basics pretty quickly and started writing little programs.
In September 2014 I started to attend the HTL Leonding for Media Technology and Informatics. In the 5 years, I broadened my knowledge about computer sciences by a multitude, and not only my technical knowledge increased, but I also learned a lot about media production.
Now here I am, with my love for game development, music, software development, web development, and photography.
Where does my journey go next?
Did you ever share your car with family members or friends on a regular basis, and wanted to keep track of the rides? Yes? Then 'Driverslog' is the right app for you! With it, you can easily track the rides you make - where you want and when you want.
'Taimi' is a productivity-tracking app. It minimizes distractions by blocking specific websites and programs so you can concentrate on the really important things. It also tracks how much time you spend on the PC.
'MoodMonitor' is your personal online diary. You write entries just like in any other diary, with the little twist that you add your mood for that day. 'MoodMonitor' also provides you with the ability to add tags to your entries, so you can easily find them later.
This is the Sever written for 'MoodMonitor', the mood tracking diary. It is written with Node.js and Express and uses the NoSQL database MongoDB. It encrypts the data with bcrypt and handles authentication with Passport.js. It also uses the OR Mapper Mongoose.
'SRacer' is a Sci-fi high-speed racing game inspired by old classics like Wipeout and F-Zero. Try to get the best lap time while enjoying the retro-aesthetics. 'SRacer' was developed in 8 Days in a game making challenge (a so-called 'game jam') and was made with Unity3D.
'Bananaz' is a platformer in which you have to collect all the bananas as fast as possible. Will you make it till the end and help Mr. Capsule get his goods back? 'Bananaz' was made in 3 Days for a small school assignment project.
'Freedom Explorer' is a parkour-action-platformer. You play as Flinn the fox who wants to master his parkour abilities. Run, jump, and slide through 5 different levels and help Flinn discover new abilities on the way. 'Freedom Explorer' was developed as my diploma thesis project in 8 months during my last year of school.
'How To Raise A Demon' is an action-adventure where you play as an evil alchemist, that summons a demon to obtain eternal powers. However, the creature you summon is weak, so you go on the quest to make it stronger. The game originated as a 48-hour entry for the Ludum Dare 46 game jam, but we liked the idea so much, that we made a full-fledged game out of it.
